Vera Arbor (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Vera Arbor website at veraarbor.com, the Vera Arbor mobile app, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — name, email address, and authentication credentials when you create an account (via email or Google sign-in).
- Project data — property addresses, site photos, design preferences, saved landscape plans, plant lists, and related notes you provide while using the Service.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, device/browser type, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and improve the Service.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to paid features, payment processing is handled by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including AI-assisted plan generation.
- Save and sync your projects across devices when you are signed in.
- Show regional plant and nursery information relevant to your projects.
- Send service-related messages (e.g., account verification, password reset).
- Monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, authentication, analytics, payment processing) under contracts that limit their use. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
When you click outbound links to nurseries or retailers from Shop plants, you leave our Service and are subject to those sites' privacy practices.
Retention & security
We retain account and project data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward unless you request deletion. We use industry-standard safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
- Access or update profile information from your account settings on the web or mobile app.
- Delete your app data or close your account yourself from Profile → Privacy & data in the signed-in web dashboard or mobile app (see the next section).
- Opt out of non-essential marketing emails using the unsubscribe link when provided.
Account and data deletion
You can delete your information without contacting support. Sign in, open Profile, scroll to Privacy & data, type DELETE to confirm, then choose one of the following:
- Delete my app data — permanently removes your projects, saved plants, and subscription records from Vera Arbor while keeping your sign-in active so you can start fresh.
- Delete my account — permanently removes the app data above and deletes your login. You will be signed out when the process completes.
These actions cannot be undone. If you have an active paid subscription through Stripe, cancel it from the billing portal on the web before deleting your account so you are not charged again. Site photos stored in our cloud storage may take additional time to purge from backups even after deletion is confirmed.
We may retain limited diagnostic or security logs with personal identifiers removed where needed for fraud prevention, abuse investigation, or legal compliance. If you cannot access your account, email privacy@veraarbor.com and we will help verify and complete deletion.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
